Brief history of Massage to Go

Many years before the Napa Valley became one of the nation's most popular tourist destinations, most people came to the valley with the destination of Calistoga to indulge themselves in a Day at the Spa for a relaxing massage, and perhaps a facial and a soak in the healing mineral springs.

Back in 1988 a woman with a vision and lots of creativity (having raised a family of five!) decided that something was missing. A day at the spa in Calistoga was great, but what if a person didn't have to drive all the way to Calistoga, spend several hours relaxing at a Spa and then have to drive all the way back to their lodging? In most cases, by the time you arrived back at your hotel or B&B, you were ready for another treatment!

Well, Lyn Alcantara, the owner of Massage To Go, had an alternative.

Relax! "Let us bring the Spa to you" became the invitation she began to offer visitors to the Napa Valley. Starting with a staff of three therapists including herself, Massage To Go began to offer their unique services at several hotels.

Now, after 17 years, with the assistance of her daughter Danielle, and with a staff of over 15 licensed massage therapists, 2 Estheticians and 3 Nail Technicians, Massage To Go is providing services throughout the Napa and Sonoma Valley.

Corporate Massage

Many employers are now offering regular Massage Therapy to their employees in the form of Seated Chair Massage. What better way to show your appreciation and take care of your staff? Those who experience it admit that it's the highlight of the week!

Many companies write off the expense as a Medical benefit to their employees.

Skilled Massage Therapists arrive at your worksite and set up their Massage Chairs in an appropriate spot. We provide relaxing music to set the mood.

A 15 minute neck, shoulder and back massage works wonders, immediately triggering the "relaxation response". Consider offering this service to your staff on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis.
